Starita, is a Mississippi born, multi-talented artist, songwriter and producer whose work has earned a GRAMMY® award and Latin Grammy nomination spanning a multitude of genres.
Known for his work and unexpected collaborations with Childish Gambino, A Tribe Called Quest, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, Third Eye Blind, Madame Gandhi, Los Amigos Invisibles and many others. He offers a unique genre blending style incorporating electronic elements blended with live instrumentation that stems from his deep roots in electronic, dance, ambient, rock and classical music. Fans are often pleasantly surprised by the unexpected outcome; an out-of-the box production resulting in a lush yet complex soundscape.
Notably, Starita was an engineer on the recent A Tribe Called Quest album ‘We got it from here….thank you 4 your service’ which reached #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart and earned RIAA Gold certification. He also engineered Laura Sullivan’s ‘Loves River ‘ which won the GRAMMY® for Best New Age and Los Amigos Invisibles’ ‘Repeat After Me’ which was GRAMMY® nominated for Best Latin Urban/Alternative and Song Of The Year in the Latin Grammy Awards.
Starita served as President of The Recording Academy’s San Francisco Chapter in addition to serving on The Recording Academy’s Producers and Engineers Wing and National Committees.
